ENat® is intended for collection, transport and preservation of clinical specimens to be processed with molecular diagnostic platforms.
ENat® Guanidine thyocianate based medium stabilizes RNA and DNA of Viruses, Bacteria, Chlamydia, Trichomonas vaginalis and Mycoplasma and allows safe specimen handling thanks to its microbial viability inactivation.
As the primary purpose of nucleic acids amplification techniques is to screen for a wide range of infectious diseases, nucleic acids integrity of clinical specimens during transport and storage should be preserved. ENat® medium contains a detergent and a protein denaturant that prevents microbial proliferation and ensures optimal preservation of RNA and DNA at room temperature up to 4 weeks and up to 6 months at -20°C.

    What is ENat®?

ENat® is a collection and preservation system for Molecular Biology applications. It consists of a FLOQSwab® and a tube containing ENat® medium.

    What is a FLOQSwab®?

In contrast to a traditional fiber swab, which comprises of a fiber wad in which sample can get trapped, a FLOQSwab™ has no internal core. Nylon® fibers are sprayed onto the plastic applicator and act as a soft velvet brush allowing improved collection of cell samples. Capillary action between the Nylon® fiber strands facilitates strong hydraulic uptake of liquid samples. Sample stays close to the surface allowing fast and complete elution.

How long does ENat® maintain DNA/RNA?

Up to 4 weeks at room temperature and up to 6 months at -20°C.

Can ENat® be used for molecular applications?

Yes, ENat® is specifically developped for use with molecular tests.
Always consult product inserts, instructions for use and manuals for the appropriate sample processing.

Can ENat® be used for culture?

No, ENat® is not suitable for culturing specimens.

Can ENat® be used for rapid antigen testing?

No, ENat® is not suitable for use with rapid antigen teasting.

  • DNA/RNA stabilization

ENat® stabilizes RNA and DNA of Viruses, Bacteria, Chlamydia, Trichomonas vaginalis, Mycoplasma.

    Specimen in ENat®

ENat® is a versitile medium able to preserve the RNA/DNA of a wide range of clinical specimens:

      • FLOQSwabs®

Also validated for Patient self-Collection of Vaginal or Cervico/Vaginal swab specimens:

      • Urine
      • Human DNA from Buccal Swabs
    Microbial Viability Inactivation

ENat® contains a detergent and a protein denaturant to completely inactivate microbial viability within 30 minutes. Viability Inactivation ensures extra safety in specimen Handling, Processing and Transport and it is particularly critical in case of pandemics.

    Nuclease Inactivation
Compatibility with Molecular Systems and Automated Platforms
